Attention Raider Nation: We did not have enough interest in a fan bus for Friday's state tournament game in Orono so we will be cancelling the bus! I hope to see everyone at the game on Friday night. Let's pack the stands and be loud!

As part of STEAM Survival Camp, third graders designed games to play to keep everyone entertained. Students learned about the different components of games and were challenged to make one that used minimal supplies. Each game also needed clearly written directions so everybody knew how to play. They also got a chance to play each other’s games to test out their playability which is a ton of fun!

Jackson Paumen was recognized at the October school board meeting for his year of service as the Student Representative. The Student Representative is a non-voting member of the school board and they are there to bring student issues to the forefront and to provide perspective and insight to decisions from the student lens. "On behalf of the entire Central Public Schools Board, I want to thank Jackson for his dedicated service and commitment this past year. We hope that this experience inspires you to continue in public service as you get older."

To start the year, students in grades 1-5 were sent to “STEAM Survival Camp.” They imagined that they were going out into the wilderness for a week, and each grade level had a specific task to help everyone stay safe. Fifth graders had to design hiking backpacks (models) that could be used to pack for a wilderness trip. Students learned about what makes a good hiking backpack and brainstormed a list of things to pack. From there, groups had to make a pattern for their backpack out of cardboard before picking out fabric. Each student got to use a needle and thread to practice different types of stitches. These look awesome!

Today our seniors passed down their "school spirit" to the kindergarteners. The class of 2025 and the class of 2037 came together in the Field House. One class preparing for their final year at Central, and the other class just beginning their journey. The seniors handed each kindergartener a special pin representing their school spirit, and a letter encouraging them to continue our school traditions. There was so much joy and excitement shared between the two classes, and new friends were made. This is one of the many ways our amazing students show Raider Pride and make our school such a wonderful place to learn and grow.
