Last week students in kindergarten paused from reading about life on the farm and experienced it in the classroom instead! They sheered sheep, collected eggs, built tools used on the farm, found pigs in the mud, and designed their barns. They are learning vocab words like grazing, tools, responsibility and produce and will get to visit a farm on a field trip in the spring!

Congratulations to Marlie Beneke and Micah Fenney! They have been chosen as Central High School's nominees for the Minnesota State High School League's ExCel Award. Each year they ask member schools to nominate one junior male and one junior female who have excelled in the classroom, while at the same time have participated in a League-sponsored athletic program and a League-sponsored fine arts/activity. CHS chooses our nominees based on a point system of their involvement in the above programs .

After an impressive semifinal victory, they advanced to the championship game, where Mason and his team clinched the title of U18 National Champions and took home gold medals! As the team's skip, Mason played a pivotal role in leading his team to this incredible achievement. Way to go, Mason! We're so proud of you!

The Central Difference is easy to see in our kindergarten classrooms! Students recently had a blast participating in a wedding for the letters Q and U. They learned a lot about letters, dressed to impress, enjoyed music by Principal Larson and Mrs. Solberg and then had a cake to celebrate!

Our staff has been secretly participating in their own “underground” dress-up days. These days have been popping up randomly throughout the year and include “Plaid Shirt Day”, “Silly Socks and Sandals Day”, “Monochrome Day” and “Anything but a Cup Day”. They’ve enjoyed bringing a little extra fun to the school day and seeing how many students catch on. Don’t worry Raiders, there are more dress-up days on the way! Keep an eye on our staff and see if you can spot the next surprise theme.

Now this is pretty awesome! Students in 3rd grade recently toured U.S. Bank Stadium and participated in a variety of different STEM activities. They learned about different STEM jobs that work with professional football and got to try different things. Highlights included visiting the locker room, playing on the field, creating football rockets, and using headsets to communicate plays. What a great day!
