Students in third grade have been learning about classifying animals in reading and multiplication in math. Kids had fun creating the blueprint for a zoo with animals of their choice! Designs needed to maximize the space for animals of varying sizes and they calculated the area of different animals' exhibits. We love seeing cool learning activities!

Early childhood education is such an important part of a child’s life! At ECFE, one way we teach social skills is by using puppets. Our students love to play with the puppets and like to help them use the skills we’ve learned. Last week they helped our puppet friends Bob and Greenie practice taking turns.

Last week, the 2nd graders at the After School Connections program participated in a mock election. They listened to the story “Duck For President” and talked about voting and why it’s important. They tasted chocolate and golden Oreos and then were able to visit an election judge to get their ballot and went to the polling booth to cast their votes. They got I Voted stickers and then graphed the results and discussed what the results showed.

Attention Raider Nation: Come help us send off the football team before their big game tonight! We would love to see as many fans lined up outside of the school as possible as the boys load the bus at 4:30 PM! Help us wish them good luck by cheering or honking as they leave!

Attention Raider Nation: We did not have enough interest in a fan bus for Friday's state tournament game in Orono so we will be cancelling the bus! I hope to see everyone at the game on Friday night. Let's pack the stands and be loud!

As part of STEAM Survival Camp, third graders designed games to play to keep everyone entertained. Students learned about the different components of games and were challenged to make one that used minimal supplies. Each game also needed clearly written directions so everybody knew how to play. They also got a chance to play each other’s games to test out their playability which is a ton of fun!
