Senior Student Schedule for the week of May 1-5, 2023
Wednesday, May 3rd:
~Baccalaureate Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym. This is arranged and hosted by our local churches.
Thursday, May 4th:
~Senior Breakfast will be served at 7:30 AM in the Commons. Breakfast is free to all seniors
~Graduation practice is at 8:00 AM in the gym. ** Attendance is mandatory. All students participating in graduation must attend graduation practice. **All seniors MUST bring their cap and gown to practice.
~After practice, the seniors will walk to the elementary school and walk through the halls with their cap and gowns on.
~Senior Students who are interested will be going to Feed My Starving Children as a class of 2023 community project from 11:30 AM – 1:15 PM.
~Senior cookout by the shop area FOR THE SENIORS THAT ATTEND FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN when they return.
Friday, May 5th:
~2023 Graduation Ceremony will take place at 7:00 P.M. in the large gym.
**Students must arrive at 6:00 P.M. and report to the small gym to receive honor cords, flowers, and any last-minute information before lining up for graduation. **Seniors should wear appropriate attire, which includes NO tennis shoes.
~Doors will open at 6:00 P.M. ** Seating is first come first serve.
Graduation attendance is NOT limited.

Central Public Schools would like to welcome Chris Goodwin as the new Head Football Coach.
Coach Goodwin most recently was the Head Coach of the SMB Wolfpack. While at SMB Coach Goodwin attained a 72% winning percentage which ranks 35th among the 369 active coaches in Minnesota. Goodwin also led the Wolfpack to the Prep Bowl in 2019 as the head coach, and also in 2018 as the Offensive Coordinator.
Before becoming the Head Coach at SMB, he had previously served 4 years as an assistant coach for the Wolfpack, both as the offensive coordinator and also as the team’s defensive coordinator. As the Offensive Coordinator, he led an explosive offense that averaged nearly 7 yards per play and 34 points per game. As the Defensive Coordinator in 2015 and 2016 SMB gave up less than 3.5 yards per play, with over 160 Tackles for Loss. Opponents completed just 27% of their pass attempts against SMB.
During his time as Head Coach, 29 SMB players went on to play college football, including 6 at the Division 1 level. SMB also featured Orlando Magic lottery pick Jalen Suggs at QB, who was the MN Gatorade Football Player of the year in 2019.
His coaching background includes stops at many different levels of football, including Junior College, Division III, Division II, as well as Division 1 FBS as a graduate assistant at Minnesota under Glen Mason for 4 years.
Goodwin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and a Masters' Degree in Education, both from the University of Minnesota.
Chris and his wife Laura live in Edina with their daughters, who are both students at The Blake School.

Ann has been a Kindergarten teacher at Central for 15 years. She has positively affected countless students and their families with her positive attitude, her desire to continue learning, her bright smile, and her infectious zest for teaching. Central is so grateful to have teachers, like Ann, representing our District. THANK YOU for your passion, compassion, and dedication to our students, fellow staff members, and the community.
