The robotics team finished their season this weekend. As you may know the season was virtual this year - teams had several different tasks to pick from including a game design challenge, video animation submissions, and at home skills competitions.
We did them all. But it was the at home skills competition that led the Numatic Ninjas to the state tournament. They were given multiple field challenges - they set up the field in the media center and cafeteria after school each day and practiced. In late April, they sent in a video of their challenges (7 in total) and placed 9th in the Midwest Regional out of the 30 random teams from across the country.
Their results were then good enough to qualify them for the state tournament. The top 36 teams were chosen from the state.
They were assigned 3 new options for field challenges based on "throwing and removing snowballs" -they submitted all of the videos including the 3 new ones on May 22. This weekend they learned that the team placed 28th out of the 36 teams competing.
It was a challenging season with all of the hybrid and on-line days, but we managed to have a VERY successful one!!!! One they can be proud of!

Memorial Day commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle.
In other words, the purpose of Memorial Day is to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. We spend time remembering those who lost their lives and could not come home, reflecting on their service and why we have the luxury and freedom that we enjoy today.
